If you’re looking to burn calories above all, cardio has a slight edge over strength training. You’ll burn 8 to 10 calories a minute lifting weights, compared to 10 or 12 calories a minute running or cycling.

Give your regular routine a break. For one week, try new exercises, and lower the intensity and volume of your training. When you return to your regular training, you’ll feel rested, refreshed, and ready for improvement.

Ab training is an effort, so make every crunch count. Tuck an exercise ball under your lower back, cross your arms on your chest, and bring the base of your sternum toward your pelvis - don't bend at the waste.
