A.M. Blues

I’ve been waking up at 5:30 a.m. to get to the gym by 5:50. I am not a morning person, so the first couple times it was brutal. Every morning I want to talk myself out of going, yet I still made it four times this week. Once I’m done, it’s invigorating and gives me a whole new attitude in the morning. The only downside is it makes me hungry, almost famished, all morning long. I’m guessing that’s because I’m speeding up my body chemistry and waking things up faster. Usually I’ll eat a bowl of cheerios and a banana in the morning and a protein drink or some fruit after my workout.

Since getting back in the gym, I feel more solid and not so flabby. When I stop walking, the body stops—no extra jiggling. At the same time, I’ve been frustrated with the lack of weight loss. If I were still 20, I’d probably have lost 10 to 15 pounds by now, but my metabolism is slower, so it’s become much tougher than it used to be.
